These Pektron SCU/BCU were fitted to MG Rover cars from Aug 2003 and contained 5 relays (pictures shown above)All the relays are the SAME part number and Spec, so are interchangeable.

These Relays are made by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) who made them for Pektron.
These have the same footprint (nine pins) and also can handle the same 25amp switching loads. With the same twin relays inside.

The ESA Unit = Entry Systems & Alarm Module. This unit contains 3 Relays - which control the Central Locking(Picture added to show the LDV ESA unit RELAY location that controls
the Central locking)
The ETACS Unit = Electronic Timing & Control Systems Unit.This unit contains 2 Relays which control the Fog lights and the Intermittent wipe and Wash/Wipe activation (will wash but NOT wipe)

INFORMATION
Have uploaded a RELAY ID picture to help people identify the relay(s) that may be faulty.
Also, even though there are 5 Relays doing different jobs, ANY RELAY can be replaced by the ONE DuraKool Relay as they are ALL the same spec AND part number.
RELAYS
Usually ONE Relay will fail and cause problems as detailed below - sometimes followed by another maybe months later.
So some consideration should then be given to replacing ALL FIVE to ensure that you will not have to repeat the process again.Sometimes also the Integrated Circuit (IC) Controlling that Relay(s) may have also failed we can supply
that IC and install, or just supply only.
IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING ANY OF THE FOLLOWING
Central Locking - Locks but does not UNLOCK or unlocks but will not LOCK
Drivers Window - Goes up but not DOWN or down but not UP
Horn or Fogs - NOT working, or if the horn is Constantly ON
Windscreen Washers - Front or Rear NOT working
Intermittent Wipers - or Super Locking NOT working
DETAILS
These are all normally caused by Failed RELAYS in the PEKTRON Unit which can be replaced with the NEW RELAYS made by DuraKool.
The Pektron Relays are mounted and soldered to a multilayer board via through holes.
Removing them via De-soldering and re-soldering the replacements can be difficult if you do not have any experience of this.
Overheating can loosen copper pads and damage other components.
We offer a replacement service via post for 1 - 5 Relays
